Bag Care

Lookin’ Good? Keep it that way! Follow these easy steps to caring for your brand new handmade bag:

As most of our bags are made with delicate fabrics such as cotton and satin, please follow these 5 simple rules for care.

1

spray the fabric parts of your bag generously (not too close!) with ScotchGuard or similar product 24-48 hours before use. Give it a second coat on the bottom for good measure. This will make it easier to clean surface marks.

2

DO NOT put your new bag in the washing machine!

3

DO NOT dry clean, the heat used in dry cleaning can melt the bonding materials and separate the fabric from the interfacing resulting in your bag looking like it’s full of frogs. Not pretty!

4

Gently hand clean only and if you follow the first step, this will be very easy to do.

5

Although the temptation to throw a bag straight on the floor after a long day/night is always there….try not to. If you look after your bag and stuff with old newspaper when you aren’t using it, it will help the bag to keep it’s shape.
